Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive study on the growth and characterization of organic 2,3,4-trihydroxybenzophenone single crystals for nonlinear optical applications. The crystals were grown using the slow evaporation technique and characterized through various methods such as single-crystal XRD, FTIR, FT-Raman, UV–Vis, dielectric studies, and nonlinear optical (NLO) studies. The crystals exhibit excellent optical properties, including a direct allowed transition with an optical band gap of 3.06 eV, and demonstrate reverse saturable absorption and optical limiting behavior. These findings highlight the potential of these crystals in advanced optoelectronic devices and laser protection applications.
