GWO-based charging price determination for charging station with competitor awareness

Abstract

The article discusses the challenge of determining optimal charging prices for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in competitive markets. It introduces a Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) method to find the optimal pricing strategy, considering incomplete competitor pricing information, dynamic pricing policies, nonlinear pricing impact, and uncertainties in EV charging demand. The GWO method is applied to simulate potential charging demand and predict competitor pricing actions using Double Deep Q-learning Networks. The proposed method aims to maximize the operation profit of the charging station while considering the competitive landscape. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the GWO method in achieving higher operation profits and attracting more EVs compared to traditional pricing strategies.
