Abstract

This study delves into the synthesis of silver nanoparticles using various plant extracts, including Lawsonia inermis, Syzygium Cumini, Rosa Rubiginosa, Cinnamon verum, and Beta vulgaris. The research explores the role of these plant extracts as reducing and capping agents, highlighting their environmental benefits and cost-effectiveness. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction, UV-Visible spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy, revealing diverse morphologies and optical properties. Electrochemical studies, including cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests, demonstrated the supercapacitor behavior of these nanoparticles, with specific capacitance values ranging from 123 to 613 F/g. The study also investigated the impact of different morphologies on electrochemical performance, identifying rod backbones and flake-like structures as particularly effective for energy storage applications. The findings underscore the significance of morphology and synthesis conditions in optimizing silver nanoparticle-based supercapacitor electrodes for future energy applications.
