Abstract

This article delves into the design and performance of a highly efficient and ultra-wideband polarization converter metasurface (PCMS) tailored for millimeter-wave applications. The PCMS is engineered to transform incident waves into their orthogonal counterparts, operating across an impressive frequency range of 46.3 to 145.7 GHz. Key topics covered include the unit cell design, simulation results, working principles, and parametric analysis. The article also explores the application of the PCMS for radar cross section reduction (RCSR), demonstrating its potential in various fields such as satellite communication, remote sensing, automotive radar, and medical applications. The experimental results validate the PCMS's performance, showcasing its ability to achieve over 10 dB RCSR across a wide frequency range. This innovative design addresses the need for high-efficiency, wideband metasurfaces, offering a significant advancement in the field of electromagnetic wave manipulation.
