Abstract

This chapter delves into the development and evaluation of a hybrid DCGAN-ResNet50 model for detecting fake faces, a critical issue in the era of deepfake technology. The study outlines the theoretical background of DCGAN and ResNet50, detailing their architectures and roles in the hybrid model. It discusses the dataset used, which includes both real and fake face images, and the preprocessing steps involved. The chapter highlights the model's training process, including the fine-tuning of ResNet50 and the generation of fake faces using DCGAN. Performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and AUC score are presented, demonstrating the model's superior performance compared to existing models. The results indicate that the hybrid model achieves an accuracy of 93.31%, making it a robust solution for applications in identity verification, digital forensics, and cybersecurity. The chapter concludes with a discussion on future research directions, including the integration of attention mechanisms and the extension of detection capabilities to video and audio deepfakes.
