Abstract

This chapter explores a hybrid dehazing method designed to enhance the quality of low-bandwidth satellite images affected by haze and distortions. The approach combines preprocessing techniques, including Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and Mean-Shift Clustering (MSC), with a Dehaze Mapping Network (DMN) based on Style-GAN architecture. The method aims to improve contrast, visibility, and color precision in satellite images, addressing the challenges posed by atmospheric conditions and bandwidth limitations. The chapter also discusses the integration of multispectral image fusion to generate enhanced images across different bandwidths. Performance evaluations using metrics such as RMSE, AMBE, PSNR, and SSIM demonstrate the method's superiority over existing techniques, with notable reductions in error rates and improvements in image quality. The findings highlight the potential of this hybrid dehazing method for applications in terrain analysis, environmental monitoring, and disaster management, among others.
