Abstract

The article introduces a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making methodology to optimize manufacturing processes, specifically focusing on electrochemical machining (ECM) and laser welding (LW). These methods are essential for improving the sustainability and efficiency of the manufacturing sector. The study highlights the benefits of ECM, such as its autonomy from material properties and high machining efficiency. It also discusses the advantages of laser welding, including its durability and ability to join different materials. The research combines various optimization techniques like Grey Rational Analysis (GRA), Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), and VIKOR to identify the best parameter combinations for ECM and LW. The results demonstrate the potential of these methods to enhance manufacturing processes, with specific optimal settings identified for both ECM and LW. The article concludes by emphasizing the effectiveness of the hybrid methodology in addressing complex decision-making problems in the manufacturing sector.
