Hydraulic fracturing (HF) is a technique used to stimulate oil and gas reservoirs by inducing fractures in the formation and then propagating them by the injection of a high viscosity fluid [

]. HF is also used in Environmental engineering for waste disposal in shallow formations, for cleaning up contaminated sites and in Geotechnical projects such as injection of grout, permeability testing, deep well injection and dam construction.
