Interaction of some intermetallic compounds with hydrogen is analyzed in the paper. The most applicable in the practice compounds capable reversibly to absorb hydrogen at low temperature and pressure are recommended. Maximum ability of intermetallic compounds on hydrogen absorption is discussed. It is shown that they can not exceed corresponding abilities of hydride forming metals. Reversible storage of hydrogen by holmium-based and magnesium-based compounds is considered.
