Abstract

The study explores the impact of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) on the curing characteristics, mechanical performance, and swelling resistance of SBR/NBR nanocomposites. HNTs, a unique type of clay mineral, were found to significantly improve the curing properties and mechanical strength of the rubber blends. The surface modification of HNTs further enhanced their compatibility with the SBR/NBR matrix, leading to better dispersion and improved reinforcement. The results showed notable increases in tensile strength, tear strength, and abrasion resistance, while also reducing compression set and swelling. This research provides valuable insights into the optimization of rubber nanocomposites for enhanced performance in various industrial applications.
