Abstract

The article investigates the impact of heavy metal waste on the gamma-ray shielding performance of epoxy resin. It discusses the utilization of high-energy ionizing radiation across various fields and the need for effective shielding. The study fabricates and evaluates epoxy composites doped with heavy metallic waste using the narrow beam transmission method and Monte Carlo simulations. The results demonstrate enhanced shielding properties with increased waste concentration, particularly at low and intermediate gamma-ray energies. The article highlights the potential of these composites for applications in medical, industrial, and environmental contexts, providing a detailed analysis of their radiation shielding capabilities.
