Abstract

This article delves into the impact of temperature mismatch on the power output of flexible paper-based thermoelectric generators (PTGs) in series, parallel, and series–parallel configurations. It highlights the significance of optimizing device design to minimize temperature mismatches and enhance performance. The study focuses on the use of advanced inorganic semiconductor-based materials, such as Bi2Te3-based compounds, to achieve high thermoelectric performance. The authors present experimental results demonstrating the superiority of the series–parallel configuration in reducing temperature mismatches and improving power output. The findings have significant implications for the development of efficient energy harvesting solutions in wearable electronics, particularly for capturing low-grade body heat to power small devices.
