Abstract

The study investigates the effects of copper incorporation on cadmium telluride (CdTe) and cadmium sulfide (CdS) thin films, aiming to enhance solar cell performance. By incorporating Cu before and after CdS deposition, the research analyzes structural properties, surface morphologies, Raman spectroscopy, surface topology, optical properties, and electrical properties. The results indicate that controlled Cu incorporation can significantly improve the crystalline quality, grain size, and electrical conductivity of CdTe films, making them promising for solar cell applications. The use of thermal evaporation and CdCl2 treatment further optimizes the film properties, paving the way for more efficient thin film solar cells.
