This chapter delves into the intricate world of fat, oil, and grease (FOG) deposits, exploring how suspended solids influence their formation. Through systematic experiments, the study reveals that the weight of FOG deposits increases with flow velocity due to enhanced mixing. However, the presence of suspended sand significantly reduces the weight of FOG deposits at lower velocity gradients, an effect that diminishes as the gradient increases. The study also highlights the adhesive nature of palmitic acid-based solids compared to oleic acid-based ones.
