Abstract

The article delves into the enhancement of tribological properties in austenitic steel by employing deformational cutting. This method forms a ribbed surface with increased hardness, leading to a substantial reduction in wear intensity and friction coefficient. The study focuses on the use of solid lubricant materials within the macro-relief created by deformational cutting, showcasing the potential for self-lubricating friction surfaces. The authors highlight the transformation of austenite to martensite during the deformation process, contributing to the improved mechanical properties of the steel. The research underscores the practical applications and benefits of this innovative approach in enhancing the service life and performance of machinery components operating under frictional conditions.
