Abstract

Questions are considered for pouring steel in section continuous billet casting machines (CBCM). Structural elements are developed of a unit for protecting the metal stream during steel pouring in a section CBCM that facilitates a reduction in reaction of air with molten steel during pouring and provides rational argon supply parameters into a refractory pipe annular groove. This makes it possible to increase pouring stability and provide high quality poured metal.
