Abstract

The article delves into the challenges of simulating radiative heat flux in fire scenarios and introduces an adaptive resampling backward ray tracing method (ARBRTM) to address these issues. The method is designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of predicting thermal radiation effects on human surfaces during fires. The article provides a detailed explanation of the method, including its theoretical foundation, implementation, and validation through experimental data. It compares the ARBRTM with traditional backward Monte Carlo ray tracing methods and the Modified Discrete Solid Flame (MDSF) model, highlighting the advantages of the new approach. The article also discusses the practical applications of the method in fire safety and emergency management, as well as its potential for future research and development. The experimental validations demonstrate the method's superior performance in capturing thermal radiation properties and improving simulation precision. The article concludes by discussing the limitations of the current study and suggesting areas for further research, such as incorporating more experimental measurements and advanced radiation spectral models.
