Abstract

The article delves into the challenges and potential solutions for recycling BOF-slag, a significant byproduct of steel production. It introduces an innovative pre-treatment process involving slow cooling and microwave irradiation to enhance the separation of iron-rich and C2S-rich fractions. The study demonstrates that this process can significantly improve the magnetic yield and degree of separation, making it a promising approach for advancing the circular economy in the steel industry. By addressing the limitations of current methods and providing detailed experimental results, the article offers valuable insights into the future of BOF-slag recycling.
