Abstract

The article investigates the influence of fiber orientation on the reflection and attenuation of waves in fiber-reinforced viscoelastic media. It builds upon existing studies by considering arbitrary fiber orientations, which are more realistic than previous models that focused on fibers aligned with coordinate axes. The authors develop a constitutive theory for multi-functional fiber-reinforced composites and explore the effects of inclination angles on wave propagation and reflection coefficients. The study uses numerical methods to analyze the characteristics of reflected waves, including phase velocities, propagation angles, attenuation, amplitude ratios, and phase shifts. The findings have significant implications for non-destructive testing (NDT) of composites and various constructive fields, offering a framework for future research in fiber-reinforced thermoelastic media.
