Abstract

The chapter delves into the impact of galvanized iron fiber (GIF) on the bond behavior of concrete, a critical aspect of reinforced concrete structures. It begins by discussing the challenges of traditional reinforcement methods and the advantages of incorporating short fibers like GIF. The study investigates the effects of different GIF percentages and lengths on compressive, tensile, and bond strengths. Notably, the research finds that GIF significantly improves compressive and tensile strengths, while its impact on bond strength is more nuanced, depending on the rebar diameter and embedded length. The chapter also provides detailed experimental procedures and results, including the failure patterns observed during pullout tests. These findings contribute to a better understanding of how GIF can be optimally used to enhance the overall performance of concrete structures.
