Abstract

The chapter delves into the impact of jute reinforcement on the stiffness capacity of cohesionless pavement geomaterials, a critical aspect of road construction. It begins by discussing the growing popularity of natural fibre composites in road construction due to their eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness. The study investigates the influence of jute fibre on soil stiffness and strength, using California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests and stiffness capacity measurements. The research highlights that jute fibre reinforcement significantly enhances soil stiffness, particularly at optimal depths, leading to improved pavement strength. The findings suggest that jute fibre can serve as a viable and sustainable alternative to conventional reinforcement materials in geotechnical engineering. The chapter also discusses the potential for future research, emphasizing the need to explore long-term performance and design optimization.
