Abstract

The article investigates the impact of load path and effective stress on the one-dimensional deformation of Cemented Paste Backfill (CPB) during deposition and curing. It highlights the importance of understanding these interactions to estimate in-situ strength developments and deformations of CPB. The study involves experiments simulating in-situ loading conditions to better understand the behavior of CPB under various loading rates and curing times. The results show that the rate of effective stress development and the delay before its application significantly affect the stiffness and strength of CPB. The research aims to improve laboratory sample preparation techniques for strength testing and to estimate in-situ void ratios under different loading and curing regimes. This work is crucial for optimizing the design and efficiency of backfilling processes in underground mining operations.
