Abstract

This chapter delves into the influence of loading angles on the performance of registration pin connections within the VectorBloc modular construction system. The study focuses on three key areas: the impact of loading angles on ultimate load capacity, the effects of thread size (TPI count) on failure loads, and the significance of lifting plate thickness. Additionally, it compares thread stripping capacities calculated using ASME B1.1 and ISO/TR 16224 standards, revealing that ASME B1.1 provides more conservative and accurate predictions. The research concludes that increasing loading angles reduces ultimate load capacity, while decreasing TPI count and increasing plate thickness enhance it. These findings offer crucial insights for improving the design and safety of modular construction systems.
