Abstract

This article delves into the synthesis and characterization of Nd-doped SnO2 nanoparticles, focusing on their structural, microstructural, and dielectric properties. The study reveals that Nd doping significantly alters the crystallite size, grain morphology, and electrical conductivity of SnO2 nanoparticles. Notably, the incorporation of Nd3+ ions transforms the material from n-type to p-type conductivity, a crucial finding for potential applications in optoelectronic devices. The dielectric studies highlight the enhanced dielectric constant and loss profiles, offering insights into the polarization mechanisms and defect chemistry. The article concludes with a discussion on the potential of Nd-doped SnO2 nanoparticles for use in p–n junction diodes and transparent conducting electrodes, making it a compelling read for those interested in advanced materials and nanotechnology.
