Abstract

The study investigates the impact of Ni content on the arc erosion behavior of Ag/Ni electrical contact materials, crucial for various low-voltage electrical appliances. It delves into the macro and microscopic erosion morphology and arc parameters after 50,000 operations, revealing that higher Ni content leads to more severe erosion on the anode. The research also highlights the different elemental distributions on cathode and anode, with Ni particles forming layers on the cathode surface, affecting heat transfer and arc erosion resistance. This detailed analysis offers valuable insights into improving the performance of Ag/Ni contact materials in practical applications.
