Abstract

The study investigates the impact of fire periodicity on combustible material stocks in middle-aged pine forests, focusing on the dynamics of forest floor, litter, and fallen woody materials. Controlled burns were conducted at varying frequencies to assess their influence on combustible material stocks and fire intensity. The research reveals that the frequency of burning significantly affects the accumulation and structure of combustible materials, with implications for forest management and fire hazard reduction strategies. Notably, the study provides valuable data on the optimal burning frequencies to maintain safe combustible material levels and prevent intense wildfires.
