Footnotes
1
Das Original findet sich in der Literatur (ACRL, 2016, S. 3): „Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning.“

2
Das Original findet sich in der Literatur (UNESCO, 2013, S. 17): „MIL is defined as a set of competencies that empowers citizens to access, retrieve, understand, evaluate and use, create, as well as share information and media content in all formats, using various tools, in a critical, ethical and effective way, in order to participate and engage in personal, professional and societal activities.“

3
„What is called for is not a new information studies curriculum but, rather, a restructuring of the learning process. … Such a learning process would actively involve students in the process of:
- knowing when they have a need for information
- identifying information needed to address a given problem or issue
- finding needed information and evaluating the information
- organizing the information
- using the information effectively to address the problem or issue at hand.
Such a restructuring of the learning process will not only enhance the critical thinking skills of students but will also empower them for lifelong learning and the effective performance of professional and civic responsibilities.“

Deutsch ist nicht darunter.

So argumentiert z. B. auch Hapke, 2019, S. 23.

Etwa die im Jahre 2000 veröffentlichten Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education der American Library Association (2000).

7
Im englischen Original „critical information literacy“.

10
„Compared to a search within the title and abstract, a fulltext search in a database results in: a) the same number of hits, b) a smaller number of hits, c) this has no effect on the number of hit, d) a larger number of hits.“

11
Englisch: „situational judgment test“.

12

16
Englisch: „data literacy“.
