From now on, new Jaguar Land Rover models will be able to access system updates using Software-over-the-air (SOTA) technology and will have improved smartphone connectivity. The functions are also available for models from 2016 onwards via an upgrade.
The infotainment systems of new models produced by British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover will now be equipped with a SOTA function. This will enable the driver to access system updates over the air using the micro-SIM built into the car or via a Wi-Fi connection. Software can be updated by clicking an option in the menu, without having to visit a garage.
The new Smartphone Pack will also include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and enable passengers to use various smartphone functions such as music streaming via the vehicle's Touch Pro and Touch Pro Duo infotainment systems. These new functions will also be available for older JLR models from 2016 onwards via a free update, if the necessary hardware is provided.
