Abstract

This chapter presents a strategic framework for transitioning and scaling computational design in architectural commissions, addressing the challenges of time and budget constraints. It introduces a meta-management approach to identify opportunities, align resources, and build trust between stakeholders. The framework, developed over 13 years by Dsearch at White Arkitekter, offers a nuanced perspective on integrating computational design into existing architectural practices. It highlights the importance of synchronizing development processes with design workflows, defining clear roles and responsibilities, and continuously refining methods and tools. The chapter includes case studies such as the Slussen Façades project and the Forumtorget Bench, showcasing how computational design can innovate and streamline complex architectural projects. By focusing on real-world applications and providing actionable insights, this chapter offers valuable guidance for architects and computational designers seeking to enhance their practices.
