Abstract

This chapter delves into the innovative design of an autonomous lavender harvesting robot, addressing the labor-intensive nature of traditional harvesting methods. By integrating cognitive and systematic design methodologies, the paper explores the use of AI-driven techniques and generative design to overcome technical challenges. The research emphasizes the importance of breaking psychological barriers in design and leveraging advanced technologies to enhance precision and efficiency in agricultural robotics. The methodology presented combines the Cognitive Breakthrough Assistant (COBRA), generative AI, the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), and the Complex Systems Design Technique (CSDT) to create a highly functional and efficient robotic system. The chapter also highlights the potential of AI-driven processes in optimizing agricultural machinery, showcasing the benefits of generative design in creating robust and efficient structures.
