Abstract

This chapter delves into the importance of traceability in mineral supply chains, highlighting the risks associated with unethical sourcing and environmental degradation. It identifies five key categories for an integrated traceability framework: Governance and compliance, Technology and analytics, Supply chain management, Social and environmental impacts, and Performance and evaluation. The study employs the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) to prioritize these categories, with Governance and compliance emerging as the highest priority. The framework aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and sustainability in mineral supply chains. The chapter also discusses the challenges and opportunities in implementing traceability systems, emphasizing the need for collaboration among governments, industry stakeholders, and local communities. By addressing these issues, the proposed framework offers a scalable and flexible solution for improving traceability in mineral supply chains.
