Integrating Syrian Cadastral Data into Digital Twins Through Accurate Determination of Transformation Parameters

Abstract

The chapter focuses on integrating Syrian cadastral data into digital twins by accurately determining transformation parameters between global and local datum. It addresses the lack of geodetic reference points in Syria, which hinders the use of GPS measurements. The study proposes a method to convert GPS coordinates to the local Clarke 1880 datum, essential for digital projects like BIM, GIS, and DTMs. The authors estimate the accuracy of transformation parameters using the least squares method and validate their approach through experiments on a set of points in Syria. The results show the method's reliability and potential for use in various engineering projects, even in areas with no common points. The chapter concludes by recommending the use of the calculated parameters for future research and digital map production in Syria.
