Integration of Blockchain to Internet of Things (IoT)

This chapter delves into the integration of blockchain technology with the Internet of Things (IoT), addressing the critical issues of security and scalability. The authors present a novel architecture that leverages Ethereum blockchain to create a robust Blockchain and IoT (BIoT) system. The proposed architecture consists of five interconnected layers: IoT layer, Processing node layer, Cloud layer, Blockchain layer, and User layer. Each layer is designed to handle specific functions, from data collection and processing to authentication and encryption. The chapter also introduces two algorithms for connection establishment and blockchain block creation, enhancing the efficiency and security of data transfer.
