The company QSIL Ingenieurkeramik recently celebrated a milestone: the 11 millionth ceramic sliding shoe for axial piston pumps left the factory. This pump component helps manufacturers of diesel engines to reduce emissions.

Krahn Ceramics has successfully started up its first own production line for ceramic compounds in Hamburg Rothenburgsort. Using modern plant technology, CIM feedstock for injection molding is produced at the site.

Numerous components in many machines are often made of steel or ceramics, depending on the operating conditions, although neither material is suitable for all environments. A new material combines the advantages of both materials.
