Audi is expanding the engine line-up for its Q8 model by two V6 engine versions. In addition to the V6 TDI in the Audi Q8 45 TDI, the luxury SUV will be equipped with a 3.0-litre turbo petrol engine in its Audi Q8 55 TFSI model.

Just like the Q8 50 TDI, which is already available, the engines operate using a mild hybrid system with a 48-volt on-board power supply that is supplied by a belt starter generator and a lithium-ion battery. It generates a recuperation power of up to 12 kilowatts. The gliding function with the engine switched off activates between 55 and 160 km/h and can be held for up to 40 seconds.

The new V6 TDI in the Q8 45 TDI produces 170 kilowatts (231 hp) and a torque of 500 Newton metres between 1,750 and 3,250 rpm. The Audi Q8 45 TDI accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and is 233 km/h fast. The Audi Q8 55 TFSI is powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine with three litres of cubic capacity and direct injection. It produces 250 kilowatts (340 hp) and a maximum torque of 500 Newton metres in the range from 1,370 to 4,500 rpm. The Audi Q8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and is electronically limited to 250 km/h top speed.

Automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard

Power is transmitted by an eight-speed Tiptronic, the Quattro full-time four-wheel drive system is standard, as are the suspension with damper control and the Audi Drive Select driving dynamics system. The digital instrument cluster Audi Virtual Cockpit and the infotainment system MMI Navigation Plus are also included.
