Abstract

The article delves into the advanced topic of intracavity-squeezed cooling in a three-cavity optomechanical system, addressing the critical challenge of achieving ground-state cooling of mechanical resonators. It introduces a novel cooling scheme that leverages the intracavity squeezing effect of an optical parametric amplifier (OPA) medium, significantly improving cooling performance. The study meticulously analyzes the cooling rates, final phonon numbers, and the impact of various parameters on the cooling process. Notably, it demonstrates that this scheme can achieve ground-state cooling even in the unresolved-sideband regime, which is a significant breakthrough in the field of optomechanics. The article also highlights the importance of quantum backaction heating and how the proposed scheme effectively mitigates this issue. By relaxing the requirements on the quality factors of the auxiliary cavities and initial environmental pre-cooling, this research offers valuable insights and practical solutions for both theoretical and experimental studies in optomechanical systems.
