The reputation and recognition of JAMS as a top academic journal in the marketing discipline continues to grow. One of the major consequences of this growth is a sizable increase in the overall number of manuscript submissions to the journal. In the two years prior to my start as Editor-in-Chief (i.e., 2016, 2017), JAMS received an average of 536 new submissions a year. Between 2018 and 2021, this has increased to nearly 700 submissions per year, including 755 in calendar year 2021. Mark and I initially evaluate all of these submissions, and also manage the flow of all manuscripts (both new and revisions) that are not desk-rejected. …
