Abstract

This chapter delves into the digital transition in education, highlighting the necessity for teachers to develop digital competencies amidst workforce shortages and technological advancements. It explores the challenges faced by teachers in integrating new technological tools into their work, particularly in dual training programs. The study focuses on a co-design project involving the creation of a Class Notebook template in Microsoft OneNote to support teachers in supervising traineeships. The research adopts a framework grounded in work activity ergonomics and Sen's capabilities theory, emphasizing the importance of an enabling environment for successful digital transitions. The study involved 10 teachers and tested the Notebook template in both simulated and real-world settings. Key findings include the factors influencing the effective use of digital tools and the conditions necessary for a safe and healthy digital transition in education. This chapter provides valuable insights into the practical implementation of digital tools and the importance of involving teachers in the design process.
