The study focuses on enhancing the modeling of exhaust gas turbochargers by examining the wastegate channel interaction in twin-scroll turbines. It introduces a method for acquiring wastegate characteristics at the combustion chamber test bench, revealing a significant pressure dependency of the isentropic flow cross-section. The research also demonstrates a strong interaction between wastegate downstream flows in twin-scroll turbines, impacting engine performance. The findings are validated through measurements and 3-D CFD simulations, offering valuable insights for improving engine calibration processes.
