Abstract

This article delves into the effects of casting rate on the structure and properties of bronze Br010S2N3 rods produced through upwards continuous casting. It explores how varying casting rates influence the macro- and microstructure, mechanical properties, and tribological performance of the rods. The study reveals that faster casting rates lead to changes in grain size and orientation, affecting the overall structure of the rods. Additionally, it examines the impact of casting rate on the volume fraction of phases within the bronze structure, including the intermetallic phase γ-Cu3Sn, which significantly influences wear resistance. The research also investigates the relationship between casting rate and properties such as hardness, thermal conductivity, and porosity, providing insights into optimizing the casting process for improved product quality. The findings offer valuable insights for professionals seeking to enhance the manufacturing efficiency and performance of bronze components in high-demand industries like aerospace.
