Abstract

The article investigates the feasibility of producing plastic ball bearings using additive manufacturing techniques, specifically stereolithography (SLA) and fused deposition modeling (FDM). The study compares the performance of bearings made from different resins, highlighting the challenges and advantages of each method. The research focuses on the dimensional precision, surface roughness, and durability of 3D-printed bearings under various operating conditions. The findings suggest that while additive manufacturing offers cost and design flexibility, it also presents unique challenges such as material strength and manufacturing time. The article concludes with recommendations for optimizing the production process to enhance the lifespan and cost-effectiveness of 3D-printed ball bearings.
