Abstract

The article delves into the investigation of structural and optical characteristics of PVA/crystal violet dye composites for flexible smart optoelectronic applications. It begins by highlighting the significance of polymers as substitutes for metals and their exceptional features, such as low density and high flexibility. The study focuses on polymer composites, which are enhanced by inexpensive organic fillers, and specifically explores the use of PVA and crystal violet dye. The research involves fabricating PVA/CV composite films using the solution casting route and analyzing their optical and structural properties through FTIR, XRD, and UV/Vis/NIR spectrophotometry. Key findings include the alteration of functional groups, changes in crystallinity, improved UV blocking, and enhanced optical properties such as energy gap, linear/nonlinear optical susceptibilities, and dispersion parameters. The study concludes by highlighting the potential of PVA/CV composites in various optoelectronic applications, such as filters, SSDLs, OSMs, and solar cells.
