Abstract

The chapter delves into the complex interplay between gas and solid phases in Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) reactors, focusing on the turbulent gas-solid flow dynamics. It explores how the addition of particles affects the multiscale behavior of the flow, influencing phenomena such as particle segregation and deposition. The study employs pressure signal analysis through standard deviation, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), and Wavelet Transform to observe fluctuation homogeneity, predominant frequencies, and scale dynamics. Notably, it reveals that the presence of particles shifts the dominant frequencies and attenuates mesoscale structures, transferring energy to microscales. The findings offer valuable insights into the turbulence modulation and multiscale interactions in CFB systems, making it a compelling read for those interested in advanced fluid dynamics and multiphase flow analysis.
