Abstract

The study delves into the activated reduction of vanadium titanomagnetite concentrate, aiming to enhance the extraction efficiency of iron, vanadium, and titanium. By investigating the transfer mechanisms of these elements at different temperatures, the researchers identify the optimal conditions for a two-stage reduction process. This innovative approach involves preliminary reduction at temperatures below 1000°C followed by final reduction in the range of 1100-1150°C. The article highlights the formation of activated compounds like Na2TiO3 and NaVO3, and the challenges associated with sodium loss during the reduction process. Through detailed experimental analysis and thermodynamic calculations, the authors propose a method that not only improves the economic viability of the process but also addresses environmental concerns related to energy consumption and acid discharge.
