Abstract

The article delves into the challenges of managing IoT traffic in a 4-tier architecture, emphasizing the limitations of traditional cloud computing and the potential of edge computing. It introduces the concept of osmotic computing, which balances workload and resource utilization across cloud and edge layers. The main contribution is a deep RNN model designed to predict optimal routes that include pre-specified nodes, enhancing traffic management efficiency. The method is implemented and evaluated in a simulated IoT environment, demonstrating significant improvements in energy consumption and response time. The article also highlights the potential of deep learning in optimizing IoT network performance, setting a foundation for future research in this domain.
