Abstract

The article delves into the optimization of solar photovoltaic arrays under partial shading conditions, a significant challenge in maximizing energy output. Traditional methods, such as Total Cross-Tied (TCT) configurations, have limitations in distributing shade effectively. The proposed Irregular SuDoKu (IRS) modeling approach addresses these issues by reconfiguring the physical arrangement of photovoltaic modules without altering electrical connections. This method disperses shade more evenly across the array, reducing mismatch losses and enhancing overall power output. The study compares the IRS method with various other configurations, including SuDoKu, Optimal SuDoKu (OS), and advanced SuDoKu patterns, demonstrating the superiority of the IRS approach. The article includes detailed simulations and performance analyses under different shading scenarios, highlighting the IRS method's ability to improve fill factor, efficiency, and maximum power output. The results showcase the potential of the IRS method to significantly enhance the performance of solar arrays, making it a promising solution for the renewable energy industry.
