Abstract

The article discusses the challenges of model compression in deep learning, particularly focusing on filter pruning techniques. It introduces a new method that combines feature map relevance and information capacity to evaluate filter importance, and uses knowledge distillation to recover the lost performance of pruned networks. The method is validated through extensive experiments on various image classification datasets, demonstrating its effectiveness in reducing model size and improving inference speed. The unique approach of this method lies in its iterative pruning process and the use of knowledge distillation to quickly recover network performance, making it a standout solution in the field of model compression.
