Abstract

The article explores the application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in emergency communications and delivery services, highlighting the need for efficient UAV-assisted communication systems. It focuses on a full-duplex UAV relay system operating in the millimeter-wave (mmWave) band, which offers high data rates but faces challenges such as high path loss and self-interference. The authors propose an iterative algorithm to jointly optimize user scheduling, UAV trajectory, beamforming, and power allocation, aiming to maximize the average transmission rate and mitigate self-interference. The algorithm is based on block coordinate descent (BCD) and successive convex approximation (SCA) techniques, ensuring convergence and efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate the algorithm's effectiveness in improving system performance and reducing self-interference. The article concludes by discussing potential future work and the significance of the proposed method in enhancing UAV relay communications.
