Zusammenfassung

Bei den bisherigen Festigkeitsberechnungen wurde ein Spannungsnachweis oder ein Tragfähigkeitsnachweis geführt. Damit war eine ausreichende Sicherheit nachgewiesen. Es gibt aber Bauteile, bei denen durch plötzlich sehr stark zunehmende Verformungen die Standsicherheit des Bauwerkes nicht mehr gegeben ist, obwohl noch eine relativ geringe vorhandene Druckbeanspruchung herrscht. Schlanke Bauteile, wie z. B. Stützen oder Wände, können seitlich ausknicken (Abb. 7.1).
