Abstract
So far the chapters in the book have focused on the primary task of data acquisition and relationship extraction. For the more sophisticated applications, specifically the ones that exhibit some form of intelligence, the relationship information forms the basis of reasoning and interpretation. The recent surge in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and other data analytics-based services is in part because of technologies taking advantage of the various knowledge representation mechanisms. In this chapter we focus on introducing some of the popular methods for knowledge representation and their usages.
